This one was an unexpected love. Picked it up from the bookstore with a "oh this looks interesting", but the storytelling was just mesmerizing. The Blessing Stone by Barbara Wood is one of those that instantly transports the reader to another time and place.

This was one of those rare finds at the new Barnes & Noble. I love walking among the stacks, the smell of the pages between the covers and the smell of coffee in the background is just my brand of euphoria. So, when I devoured this series, I pressed it into my daughter's hands with a "just give it try." She tried it, loved it and is now a reading addict. Author Maria V. Snyder was the catalysis for a life long love of reading.

For fans of Arthurian Legend this is an excellent entry. I am always a sucker for stories that are an alternative telling of classic tales. Excellently written, the author (Alice Borchandt) wasn't able to complete the series before she passed away but how I wish for more. Once again, this was a find while wondering through the book store. This is one of my best spontaneous finds.
